  1. Texting is a miraculous thing to me.I use texting constantly during the day. Without texting I would have to call people every time I needed something. Texting has changed over the years.People use "LOL" means laughing out loud but has turned in to signifying empathy and accomodation. People have also changed the way that they use hashtags on social networks.

  7. I think texting is cool but I dont think anything like a written language. Its just regular English with some shortened words. Hash tags at times can be hard to keep up but they're useful. Thats my opinion.

  11. This article shows how communication is becoming more advanced around the world and how it has a great impact on our lives. Hashtags have changed from a way to identify things to a way for communication. Even though they are old, GIFs have resurfaced as a new way for people to describe a story. A woman from Japan wrote a novel on her cellphone, which is incredible. Her novel also hit number 5 on the bestsellers list. On twitter, Jeniffer Egan wrote a short story in 140-character segments, which was later published in The New Yorker as "Black Box". All these things show that communication is always advancing and changing. Communication has a significant impact on our lives. Without communication like it is, we would be very different as a society. Communication keeps us together and helps us solve problems. Modern communication helps us live our lives.

  12. The blog is about how a guy named John McWhorter thinks texting is fingered speech. It talks about hashtags started out to be a literal function, meaning that hashtags make topics easier to find. The blog also talks about GIFs that are short videos that are continuously looped. Also they talked about email signoffs it began when a former college student signed off his email with "warmest regards."
What i think of this is blog is that i agree with John because how he said lol has evolved from very different meanings. To me texting is helping you understand things in your own way.

  13. The first way that people talk to other people is they text. They use what they call fingered speech and they use lol.Lol use to stands laughing out loud. The second way is they use the internet.People use Facebook and now they have started using hash tags on Facebook. Then they use email they send messages through the internet instead of calling the other person. They also use live chat they can see each other and talk.
I like that u can text and and get everything through phone.I also like that u can see people when u live chat with them it makes it easier to talk to people.Facebook helps if cant talk to people in a long time so you can add them and then talk to them.People use gmail so they can get emails from other people. The last thing is that hash tags use to be just a number sign but now they are hash tags.

  14. This article is about texting being a miraculous thing. It also talks about more examples of new linguistic forms that have developed in tandem with technology. Such as GIFs, hashtags and more.
I thought this article was pretty interesting. I also found it very easy to relate to. And I kind of agree with this guy. Texting is a fingered speech. I think the fact that people writing novels on their cell phones was cool, too.

  15. I think texting is the best thing that's came out! It gives us a way to talk to each other than writing everything out and have to give it to them or wait till it gets to them through mail. The texting words went from "lol" or "omg" to becoming a form of speech for most people. Hash-tags went from just tagging an item easily to meaning what you actually thought about that article. This article shows how advanced our texting is.

  16. I think texting is great! It gives us a better way to communicate with others without spelling out the words all the way and talk more with people that are not around us someone who is in another State. Like using hash tags on Facebook and twitter.

And how texting has changed a lot over time and it has made it a better way to get a point across. I like how we can use our phone to tell how we feel through a text!!!

  17. This article shows how people text now. Text is a good thing because that if you don't like to talk on the phone you can just text the person that you talking.

  18. This article talks about texting and hw it can put your like in danger. This article talks about our life and what the hashtags really mean. but most people say that using hashtags is eaiser because they don't like texting alot of words or symbols.

I think that texting is amazing but also it is the main cause for some car accidents. Texting is good because you can use alot of abreviations like: lol, kmsl, and ect. Where im from alot of people text.

  19. Texting is miraculous to me. I think that this article was on a very great topic. 90% of teens today have cell phones with text messgaing. Text messaging is an easier way to communicate than using your email, or calling someone. Text messaging changes more and more everyday, we went from phones with buttons you had to click three times to get one letter to phones that you can see when the recieving person reads the text. These things are very cool and miraculous. I am thankful for these new updates in texting.

Hashtags. Hashtags have never been used like they are used today. You commonly see hashtags on twitter, instagram and facebook. Some of the most booming social netwroks in this time. I frequently use hashtags to describe a picture or a post in one word. I think hashtags are a positive thing however others do over use them sometimes.

  20. this article is talking about texting. texting is a good. it is fun to do it also let people say words the way they want to. texting is also a faster way to talk to people.

i think people should use texting more than talk on the phone because it is better. but i also think it also bad because people also use it to talk about others and other bad things.

  21. Texting is a way to comunicate with your friends and when they move or go on vacation. People use texting for just about everyday and texting is a everyday thing. And you could text one of your brother or sister when you need or want something from the store while they are at the store.

  22. This web page shows the many different ways that you can use texting, as well as how technology in texting and technology in general continues to advance. Gifs, for instance, are short motion pictures that show the subject or image moving for a short time. Pictures are a great way to communicate especially if you are needing to remember a location or a schedule. I like this artical because it describes all of the ways you can communicate via texting.

  24. This article mainly talks about hashtages, GIFs, Fingered speech, twitter, and Email signoff. But also its talks about how to text. On the Hastags its used for indicate a joke and more with hastags. And GIFs helps make the horrifying event lighter and easier to process.

But I also think it can be a better way to text. However, the hastage can also be used on twitter, facebook and more website. On the Fingered speech its talks about the cellphone novels so on any cellphone you can write a novel. However, one women wrote her first novel on a cellphone and hit the number five best-sellers list.

  25. This article shows that communication has advanced tremendously. Hashtags have changed from identify things to a way of communication. Hashtags have been here for a while, but GIFS have made them where you can describe a story. All these things prove that communication is needed in our lives. Without communication, peoples lives would be different. We use communication every single day. Phones have been upgraded to where you can do about anything you want to. This is a great article.

  26. I think the calendar would help so I can plan arrangements to go to school events, if I wanted. Also the college thing could help if you needed to look for a college you wanted to go to. Also, the videos could help teach you something new.

  27. This article shows how tremendously technology has changed. Texting is a form of speech. The commonly misspelled words are not texting just people coming up with these words. Texting is very useful like if you are busy and someone calls you and you don't answer but the call is important they can text you and tell them they need you.

  40. In todays texting symbols are taking on new meanings, it's no longer about just a smiley face, a sad face, or a winky face etc. It's about how the worlds people today express their feelings, views, and opinions about our world, society, and goverments. Texting has went from an experimental project of alternate communication through phones to something much more. More people actually text more regularly than calling. Business actions, comission, payments and many other things are applyed through texting and phones now -a-days. This is my opinion.

  41. This article shows how texting is a miraculous thing, which in my opinion is. Communication has changed so much over the years. Hashtags have became totally different than what it was made out to be. This article also tells us that texting is not such a bad thing like some adults make it out to be. Which is good to hear considering I use texting on a daily basis constantly.

  44. I feel this article shows that texting is actually helping our literature more than it's demolishing it. Using "Smiley" "Winky" "Sad" "Teardrops" and "Slanted" faces add emotions to the conversation. Before using words such as "Lol" "Lmbo" and "Smh" were looked at as literary errors, but today their ignored.

  45. This article is talking about how texting have advanced over the years. At first it was just young teens doing it , then it spread globally! Now everyone is texting. it's faster to just shoot someone what you have to say then calling them and or going to them. many people can't talk on their phones in their workplace so they shoot someone a text message. It's easy, fast, fun and all that! Now the smartphones has different ways to text. you can add emojis, smileys, pictures, videos, links etc. Texting has tremendously changed over the years and it an easy thing to do.

  46. This article is a special way to show about texting. In the article, texting is like fingered speech. Fingered speech is just like communicating, but on a cell phone. On the cell phone, you can also use hashtags or abbreviate. Using this, is just a quicker way to abbreviate some of your words. Twitter is also another way to communicate. Twitter is just a website to look and see what your friends are doing or celebrities. You can also email. Email is another way for fast communication.

  47. This article is about how texting has advanced over the years and at first us kids used to use it but texting is way better than having to call and get on the phone for like five seconds when you can just send a quick text.

  49. Texting is an important way to communicate for some. No matter where you are you can always keep in touch (as lomg as you have service or course). In Japan some actually wrote novels on their phone. Even hashtags have their own way of adding to a text. Some belive texting is another form of speech. Texting can also effect the way we spell. I love texting and think I think it is a great way to keep in touch with family and friends.

Texting has changed over the years with using shorter words and it helps talking to someone without going to their house/talking to family who lives far away and also instead of calling to say something short you just text them. I think texting helps alot.

If you're pushed for time and don't have time to stay on the phone, you can send someone a short text message and get important information from them. I think texting is very useful.
