Yahoo announced today that it has acquired Summly, a mobile news aggregation app from British entrepreneur Nick D'Aloisio.
D'Aloisio is only 17-years-old. When he started Summly, he was only 15.
So...what are your thoughts about this story?
If you were to create your own app, what would you want it to do? What would you call it?
I think that it is an interesting story because he made his own app and then yahoo bought it for lots of money. I would want it to be a game it would probably be about racing because I feel that there is not enough car games when I want to get one. I would call it racing mania.

I wouldn't want it to be a game because eventually people get tired of games and you would want to have something convinient. The Helpfull App.

ReplyDeleteThis story is very interesting how this boy at only 15 made an app and Yahoo bought it from him. If I were to create an app I would probably make an app that you can use to identify stuff like animals and plants. It would be called "Identifier".

DeleteI think this story is very interesting that this project was invented by a 15 year old. I also think its pretty inspiring that someone that young can make something like that, and earn so much money for it. If I created an app, it'd be called Know it All. You type situations or questions into this, and the app answers it in the best way for you. The name "Know it All," meaning it knows best.

ReplyDeleteI think it's a really cool story, because a 15 year old ended up making lots of money for an idea he had. If I were to make an app, I'd make one that could give teens great advice about various situations in their life. I'd call my app the Teen Advice app.

I want one that can do all that it will be so cool it will be helpful to me and to other people that want one and it can read to the blind that help for them too.

ReplyDeleteIt was a good idea, the boy is really smart and probably made a good bit of money. I would make a app called mlb, and you could challenge people to matches.
ReplyDeleteI think it was really interesting with how someone so young could be so intelligent, and actually have all the ideas to come up with their own app. If i made an app, it would be an app where you could come up with your own hairstyles. There would be competitions on it of who came up with the best hairstyle. I would call it Virtual Salon.
