- What are your thoughts on this article?
- Do you think the Crimson White did a good job reporting this story? Why or why not?
It been 50 years snice they let black student start to go Alabama but they still wont'y let them in the clubs it sad how they won't let them everyone should have them same chance.
ReplyDelete2.) Yes I do think they did a good job because it gives us more than one p.o.v ion the story of segregation in the sarorities and their members. And about the members and why it's so hard for a colored student to join.
ReplyDelete2.) Yes I do think they did a good job because it gives us more than one p.o.v ion the story of segregation in the sarorities and their members. And about the members and why it's so hard for a colored student to join.
ReplyDelete2.) yes, it a good story about the members and why it so hard for a colored student to do it
ReplyDelete1. It's really sad that the south is still showing segregation and racism towards others in the school system and in everyday life. We the people should move on from this and look at it as a period in which America was "Ignorant". It pains me to read this article because this has been going on for so many years and no ones has stopped for one second to actually look into it more.
ReplyDelete2.I think the Crimson White did a good job reporting this story, but at the same time they did not. I say that because it is exploiting racism and segregation in the school system, which is good BUT they're not exploiting the racism and segregation being shown in everyday life.
1. I think the girl in this article is treated very unfairly. Everything sororities look for in a new member this girl had and they denied her just because of her color. It is very sad that the University of Alabama still has separate sororities and fraternities for different races.
ReplyDelete2. Yes, I think they did a good job reporting this story because people need to see how unfair this is. Since its been reporting maybe they will finally realize this and make a change next year.
I think it's sad how after 50 years they still have it segregated.
ReplyDeleteI do think they did a good job reporting it because now we know what's really going on at UA.
1.)I think that it's sad that after all the years, and all the Civil Rights Movements, and all the stuff that African-American went through that this stuff is still happening.
ReplyDelete2.)Yes the crimson white did a good job reporting this story, because it was not right.
1.) It's sad that people in the south are still showing segregation and racism towards black people.
ReplyDelete2.) I think the Crimson White reporter did a very good job on the article, about the segregation, and racism in the south.
1. I find it really horible and ignorant that people in the south are acting racis towards some other schools and/or people. People now and days should look at racism as something that happened in the past and focus on what is happening in the future.
ReplyDelete2.yes, I think the Crimson White did a good job reporting this story. Why is because in every day life racism and segregation is being exploited and put out, but they don't fail to realize that racism is going to get old and they will realize that it should have been handled a long time ago.
1. My thoughts on this article is that its sad that they still have segregation and it has been 50 years. I think it is wrong in my opinion i don't think we need to have it i think everyone is the same no matter the color or what.
ReplyDelete2.Yes i do think that they reported this story good because it has what all happen and it has more than on point of view. It still should not happen because racism is not a good thing we are all the same
1. My thoughts on this article is that it is really wrong and discriminating that they wouldn't let a girl join a sorority because she is black. And is this case this girl, Melanie Gotz, had a 4.3 GPA, Was Salutatorian of her class, and she comes from a family who has deep roots in local and state public service and a direct link to the University of Alabama.
ReplyDelete2. I thought the Crimson White did a decent job on the story. I think this because there is so many other racism acts going on outside school too. But at least they showed what racism was in school.
1. I think that the University of Alabama really got some negative comments about this, which they should have because it was wrong. I think that its sad that they are still segregating today.
ReplyDelete2. I think the Crimson and White did an okay job, that hit some points but missed others!
(JULIANNA)
Delete1. I think the girl in this article is treated very pooely. Everything sororities look for in a new member this girl had and they denied her just because of her color. It is very sad that the University of Alabama still has separate sororities and fraternities for different races.
ReplyDelete2. Yes, I think they did a good job teling this story because people need to see how unfair this is. Since its been reporting maybe they will realize this and make a change next year.
1. It's stupid that the south is still showing segregation towards others in school and in everyday life.It was extremely unfair for the girl. You would have thought after all these years things would have changed alot more than they have.
ReplyDelete2. Crimson White did a good job reporting this story, but at the same time they didn't .Its good that they reported on the story within the school but this kind of stuff happenes everyday in regular, everyday life.
1.it's messed up that they still do segregation against black people for 50 years black people have been hated for the color of their skin we are all the same people.2.yes i think crimson white did a great job on the report about segregation
ReplyDelete1.) I think that in this day and time we shouldn't still have segregation. Many universities have integrated there greek systems of choosing sororities or fraternities. All universities in my opinion should be integrated when it comes to sororities and fraternities. The girl that had a 4.3 GPA and a family connected to the UA should have received a bid from this sorority. She was treated completely unfairly.
ReplyDelete2.) The Crimson and White did a great job of reporting this story. They provided an interesting story with many different peoples perspective on this issue.
It has been 50 years, I believe they should shut down the racism there. The girl has an amazing GPA and she was salutatorian of her high school class. Not allowing her to join their sorority because of her skin color is completely unfair.
ReplyDeleteYes, it was a good report, people need to know how segregated the University is today. They are getting the message out there, maybe some one will take action and de-segregate the school.

ReplyDelete1. I thought the article was pretty good. It was quite interesting. I didn't like Emily Jamison for dropping the black girl out. The black girl was one of the smartest ones there. She had a 4.3 GPA in high school! And just because of the color of her skin, she was kicked out. This is wrong on so many levels.
ReplyDelete2. Yes, I do believe the Crimson White did a good job reporting the story. I believe this, because I got the point and I now see what is happening there and how it is so wrong.
I think the people in the south should be over racism. And they should keep the past behind them.
ReplyDeleteYes people need to hear information like this because this could effect the future in life.
1. My thought on this article is i don't like how people still are being racis to black peolpe. that girl was one of the smartest people at the school. that sorority didnt let her be in it because she was black that is sad. to me i don't know why people are still being racis it is stupid.
ReplyDelete2. I think they did good because they let people know that they are still being racis in the south.
1. My thoughts on this article is even people today is still doing racism on other schools systems but,I think people should look past the racism on school systems and look at the future. This kind of stuff been going on for years and even today it's still going on.
ReplyDelete2. I think Crimson White did a great job because, it explain what's happening on our school systems. Then it also tells how the segregation feel about the school systems and the racism.
1) That it's a shame people are still showing racism and segregation in 2013. The University of Alabama should stop segregation and racism in the college. So the sororities and other organizations should stop racism to others.
ReplyDelete2)I think they did a good job reporting the story,to inform people that there is racism at The University of Alabama. Everybody needed to know that racism and segregation is still affecting people.
1. I find it really disappointing that we still have segregation and racism in 2013. It's sad that sororities show racism and bias in their selection process. The University of Alabama should make efforts to destroy the racism that is present. It's terrible that after all of the segregation and racism issues The University of Alabama has been through that it is still present in today's time.
ReplyDelete2. I think The Crimson White did do a good job reporting the story. They brought up the current issue of racism at The University of Alabama. This issue needed to be brought to light and The Crimson White did a good job of doing that. They stated the facts and did not show bias to either side. They had different point of views from several different people. The Crimson White did a good job reporting this story.
1. I think this lady who stood up for what is right should be awarded. Racism is getting worse and worse every year. It should be cleared up by now since its been going on forever. This smart black girl should be accepted at any school in the world. She has the ability to go anywhere and succeed. The University of Alabama should be ashamed in the way this happened. She should be accepted in any sorority. That makes The University look bad.
ReplyDelete2. I think Crimson White did a great job reporting this. They didn`t show racism in any way. They reported it fairly. They did a great job writing a article about this issue. Maybe someone will realize besides Melanie Gotz and stand up for what is right to make a change.
1. I think it is terrible that people are still showing racism after so many years. I think the woman who stood up for what is right is a good person at heart and she should be rewarded in some way.
ReplyDelete2. Yes I think they did a good job reporting this. Maybe this will show some people how to stand up for what is right.
1.) its sad how people are still being racist. Seriously? its stupid. We're all the same just different color. racism is getting worse. This lady is very smart for what she said and should be able to go do whatever she wants.
ReplyDelete2.) They did a great job repoting this. They didnt show racism and they did amazing
1. I think it is ridiculous that racism is still going on. I believe that the girl she be accepted into the sorority house like anyone else with great credentials and excellent scores from the other members. I believe that putting the article in The Crimson White is a good way to share the story around for others to see.
ReplyDelete2. I think that The Crimson White did a very good job on this article. They kept the girl's private, and they got statements from a lot of people involved in the situation. They showed no racism and were completely fair about the while thing. Their goal is for others to see that as well.
1. It's sad that sororities show racism and bias in their selection process. The University of Alabama should make efforts to destroy the racism that is present. I think it is terrible that people are still showing racism after so many years.

ReplyDelete1). My thoughts on this article are that it is crazy that racism is still going on. I also think that the woman was treated very unfairly. Even though she was treated unfairly, she did a good thing to stand up for herself.
ReplyDelete2). Yes, I think The Crimson Whit did a good job on reporting this, because it is not fair, and people in the world should know that too.
1. My thoughts on this article is kind of like really???? We still on this same battle field with segregation?? I think this is like not a good look for the University Alabama. That kind of makes them looks bad because the UA is a public school and usually segregation should or wouldn't be in a school as large as Alabama!!!
ReplyDelete2. I think the Crimson White did the right thing when they made this article about segregation... People should know that the number 1 ranked football team in the SEC still has segregation floating around their campus...
1.I think that this article was sad that it show racism and bias in their selection process. The university of Alabama should make to time to let racism die down cause we our not in this past no more.
ReplyDelete2. yes i do believe it let people know how hard it is for the African Americans and how there treated .

1.I think it's sad that there is still racism going on in our school. That girl met all of the requirements to go to that college but she was turned down because of her skin color. The last time i checked, we're in America.."The land of the free" not the land of segregation.
ReplyDelete2.I think the Crimson White did a good job at reporting this because all racism need to be dealt with.
1. My thoughts about the article is that it's really sad that its alot of racism still going on today. I wish stuff like this wouldn't of never exist. Its pathetic!! I'm black and it really offended me because I was thinking about going to the UA For college but that article really made me change me mind.
ReplyDelete2. I think Crimson White did a very good job reporting this in a Article because i wouldn't of never known anything about this
1. It is very disappointing that segregation is still going on 50 years later. I have so much respect for the lady who stood up for herself. It's horrible that racism is going on at the university, it actually makes UA look awful, not to mention how awful that sorority looks.
ReplyDelete2. I think Crimson White did a fantastic job at reporting this article. They did not show racism in any way, it was very fair. They also showed evidence from the situation form witnesses. Maybe, this will be a change for the UA, once they realize how terrible it looks on them.
1.i think they did good
ReplyDelete2. i agree with her about african americans
1. My opinion on this article is that its stupid. Some people need to grow up, because people are people. We are all the same. Alabama is starting to become pathetic. If the girl met the qualification then she would be able to join.
ReplyDelete2.i think the crimson white did the right thing. hopefully now alabama will realize how childish they are acting.
1: I really think it's sad that there is racism still going on in the word. I thinks it really pathetic how people still act this way. It's sad sh didn't get accepted just because she was black.
ReplyDelete2: I think the Crimson White did a good job reporting this and asking people aware of the idiotic nonsense that's going on at the University.
1.) The racist of the college need to stop its alot going on these day i thought that all this stuff would stop but it still look like it want stop and i feel bad about all of this.
ReplyDelete2.) Crimson white did real good tell us about the UA college that told me and alot other people about the college.
1). My thoughts on this article is that i think it's wrong that racism is still going on after 50 years because blacks are people just like white people are and they shouldn't be treated different just because their skin color ain't the same as white peoples skin color.
ReplyDelete2).Yes, I do think The Crimson White did a great job on reporting this , because it's not right for black people to get treated differently from white people just because of their skin color.
There is alot of racism going on in the every schools now. There are alot of people that talk about black people God made us the was he want's us to be. I think that alot of this should stop. There is a bunch of peoples feelings get hurt.
ReplyDeletei think its wrong that racism is still in schools because we have been through that time in the period were racism was a problem they shouldn't still be around!
ReplyDeletei think crimson white did a great reporting on this artical its not right that black people are being put down for there color i mean god loves us no matter what our skin color is or how we act!
1.)After all these years of racism I think it is really wrong and discriminating that they wouldn't let a girl join a sorority because she is black. She has 4.3 GPA in high school; she was one of the smartest ones there. I don’t see why they wouldn’t let her just because her skin color is different ,I think it is wrong in my opinion i don't think we should re racist i think everyone is the same no matter the color is.
ReplyDelete2.)I think crimson did a good job reporting this article. They showed no racism and were completely fair about the whole thing. People need to know how to stand up for what is right to make a change in this world.

1. After years of segregation and racism I think that its wrong that people can think they are better than other people in this world. A girl in high school wanted to join a sorority club but the members of the club did not want her to join because she was black. She has a 4.3 GPA and is one of the smartest of their students. But they are still racist to blacks after 50 years of non-segregation.
ReplyDelete2. I think that Crimson White is a fair and honest news cast reporter crew. I think that they used actual evidence that makes sense.

1. i think its stupid that people are racist and i think its pointless. Like why are people still being racist. I think its good though that some people stood up against racism and i think it should be stopped.
ReplyDelete2.I think they did a great job and they didnt show any sign of racism in there artical. It was also good that they put stuff that proved that what they said was true.

1. I think its really stupid that some people are racist and think there useless at some points but everybody is good at somethings just not a lot of stuff.
ReplyDelete2. I think it was good because they didn't put anything racist on the article and its true what they say on it.
1. I find it pathetic that people, especially adults, act that way and deny someone just because of their race. Your race does not define who you are. It doesn't make you any better or smarter. No matter what race, it should definitely not affect you getting into a sorority. They should be accepting people because of their grade averages.
ReplyDelete2. I think the Crimson and White did a good job, because they interviewed people and got their side of the story. Interviewing those people got plenty of evidence to prove that the sororities were not accepting people because of race.
1. I THINK...WELL..THIS IS THE RACIST.
ReplyDelete2.NOPE ,IS A RACIST THING TO POST THAT ON THE INTERNET
I think that it is worng to have a messed up to segrate a big school like that. Over all these years you would think it would stop but i guess not its bad that a college like that would still deal with racisim.
ReplyDelete2. I think that Crimson White is a good news cast. I think that they used real evidence that makes sense.
1.I think it is disgusting to treat people with so much disrespect especially a different race over a sorority but what the other member did was amazing.
ReplyDelete2.the way the Crimson times covered this article very easy to understand and very up building.
1.I think that its really crappy that the school is still like that.It also makes the school look bad and give them a bad reputation.I also think that that should have stopped years ago.
ReplyDelete2.I think that it is good that they stood up for racist. There should be more people in this world that would stand up for people that are getting mistreated.
