  1. I think that is a good idea for the prices and stuff and the garage biotech its like they down sizing prices on stuff.

  2. This article is about the OpenPCR DIY kit brings down the cost of PCR, It is a low-cost way to read genes. Something I found interesting about this article was that it is intended for unskilled people to expand the use of it using a PCR machine.

  3. This is actually very good, especially with the way our economy is lately. Nobody can really afford expensive things anymore. And people that would want or need to use this but don't have a lot of money now can, or it is at least made easier for them to.

    ReplyDelete
  4. i think that this is better because it is less and people can buy it easier.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Most people can't afford things like this, but this seems to be a way for them to. It has made it easier for them to access.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I think PCR machines would be very useful to some people. The only drawback would be the cost, of course. But if you want to spend $3000, that's your choice.

  7. I think this is a good idea. Now days, some people cant afford certain things. I believe this is a better way for less fortunate people to be able to have their genes read.

    ReplyDelete
  8. I think this is a very good idea but the price is to much

    ReplyDelete
  9. This could very well be a major breakthrough for small scale molecular biology, maybe on day in the future labs in schools will have these types of machines available for interested students to access and use as much as they want to. The dramatically reduced price will make it easier for places short on resources to finally receive better equipment. And they fact that they were able to simplify the workings of such a complicated machine is amazing.

  10. In my opinion, PCR machines would come in handy to some people. Its just that the only thing that would not make me purchase this item is the cost of it. $3000 seems like a waste of money.

    ReplyDelete
  11. i think its a wonderful idea but it is a very unreasonable price.

  13. I think that this kit is better because it cost a lot less than the other and it does all of the same things that the other machine does for a cheaper price.

  14. Two men name Josh Perfetto and Tito Jankowski deserve much credit to the build-it-yourself kit for bio-genetics. Costing only $599 it is a good deal. Most PCR machines cost at least $3000, this is way too much money in my opinion. These two guys have made it possible for DNA sequencing to be fun and fast. This will be great in biology labs with students who are interested in bio-engineering.

  15. I think this is a great idea. The price is understandable for the less fortune.

    ReplyDelete
  16. This is a great idea and could be useful to some people. I personally think its a waste of money if you dont have any use for it.

    ReplyDelete
  17. This build-it-yourself kit is really helpful because it turns a high-price field of science into a low-price field and this could spread into schools which can help students to learn hands-on.

    ReplyDelete
  18. This is great because the PCR machines could be very useful to some people. Now, they are cheaper so people that could actually use them can now afford them.

    ReplyDelete
  19. For something this amazing the price is great.

    ReplyDelete
  20. This is great because some people could actually use the PCR machines. Now, they are more affordable. This really helps people out who don't have many resources.

    ReplyDelete
  21. i think that making that kind of equipment available to the public at such a low price will have both good and bad effects. It will allow less privileged people to access that technology but the companies that made the expensive ones will start going down.

  23. Some people might not be able to afford this. But this also helps makes it possible so they can. This allows many more resources to the people who aren't as fortunate. I think this is a great idea.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I don't think that they should do it because for some people it could cost too much. They won't be able to pay for it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. This is a great idea but the cost of it cost way to much. some people don't have the money for this stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  26. i think that this is better because it is less and people can buy it easier. Some people will think its a new thing to buy.

  28. I think it would be a good idea but some people could not afford it. It's way to much and some people don't have the money to do that.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think the pct machines will be really great. The price though is something that could harm someone one from getting the machine.

    ReplyDelete
  30. This could help some people but then again it can make people waste their money. And Many people do not even have the money to afford things like this but I now they may have the chance to.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I think it is a better idea because it is more lower than it was and now people can buy it.

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's a good idea because some people don't have the money. But i kinda seems like a waste of money.

  34. It's a good idea. But it costs too much, because most people don't have that kind of money to spend.

  35. I think it's a good idea and even though it's really expensive it could help the people who can afford it.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Its a good idea because everybody dosent have that kind of money

  37. Tools and machines like this could be really cool to have is school science labs, and are a greater possibility with the price dropping. As long as these are used under the supervision of a responsible person, so someone doesn't accidentally create a superior race that enslaves all humans or an exploding slug, this is a great invention.

    ReplyDelete
  38. This seems like a very interesting idea. The price is kind of expensive, but its really cool that this kind of technology is readily available for the average person.

    ReplyDelete
  39. It seems quite interesting, but I think it would be more of a waste of money than it would be helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I think it would be more helpful because it would cost less to examine genes.

    ReplyDelete
  41. It could be helpful but the price is very expensive.

    ReplyDelete
  42. It probably would help but again, it's too expensive.

  43. This could very well be a major breakthrough for small scale molecular biology, maybe on day in the future labs in schools will have these types of machines available for interested students to access and use as much as they want to.

  44. DNA sequencing would be a major scientific break through. The price would be some thing that would stop people from getting one because the economy is bad.

    ReplyDelete
  45. It would be an amazing feet for america to accomplish it would be hard for peaple to get it cus of the way everything has gone up with the economy

    ReplyDelete
  46. The whole idea is interesting. The cost of money is to much, with the economy being the way it is and all. If the economy ever gets better, it would be helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Most people can't afford things like this, but this seems to be a way for them to. But DNA sequencing would be a major scientific break through. If the price was lower it would be better!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Seems like a very good idea for people to do this kind of stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  49. i think this would be a major scientific break through, but the only problem would be the price because the economy is bad and people that do not have as much money as others would not be able to afford it.

  50. This article makes since. Many people in the world do not have money to afford certain things, but this makes it more affordable for them.

  52. DNA sequencing seems like a great idea but i'm kinda not really understanding it that much. From what I understand this could be a big thing for the would to advance in tons of way.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I didn't understand this article. Im guessing its for recreational use, like in high school science classes

    ReplyDelete
  54. I think it would be good if you liked it, it is a cool peice of metal but to me it is a waste of money!!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I think that it is a good thing that they are bringing the prices down so that they can afford it. i also wonder how thy make them

    ReplyDelete
  56. I like the fact that these guys are bringing down the cost of modern day research. I find that most extraordinary. I mean most modern day research cost from thousands to even millions of dollars.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I'm very much amused that the medical industries is starting to rise to greater heights. The hold idea of making "at-home-PCR-testing"is amazing. Then making it so easy where you can test things at home and mail them in for results. This make classroom science projects more interesting. Also a good resource for independent scientists, making the prices reasonable.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I believe this could be VERY useful! Maybe this would help less fortunate people who cant afford PCR testing. I think this would make a fantastic outcome!

    ReplyDelete
  59. This is great for people who use PCR machines. The PCR machines are now more affordable and easier to obtain. They can now be purchase by those who do not have many resources.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I think this is good to bring down the price of these procedures and use these PCR machines, it could really save more lives of low income people

    ReplyDelete
  61. It's great that the price of it went down to be affordable for us!

    ReplyDelete
  62. This seems like quite an interesting idea, but the price is kind of expensive. The fact that the average person could do their own molecular biology research is just amazing. I also like the idea of there being a sequencing service to help people who aren't really skilled with this sort of thing.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I think the PCR machines would be a great idea. But if the price wasn't so sky high that some people who think it would benefit them would buy it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. OpenPCR's would bring down the costs of a typical PCR, a fundamental process in genomic research, by 80 percent. They identify the biological origins of samples.

    ReplyDelete
  65. The fact that the average person could do their own molecular biology research is just awesome. The price is pretty ridiculous though.I think it would be great if it was cheaper.

    ReplyDelete
  66. i think it is a good idea. i dont think the price is low but its good how technology gets better.

    ReplyDelete
  67. i think it is cool you can look at your own stuff, but it is a little to much for someone like me to afford.

    ReplyDelete
  68. In the article, I like how Perfetto is making PCRs cheaper, which is called a PersonalPCR. The Personal PCR costs around 149 dollars. A normal PCR costs around $3000. The price makes a whole difference for people whole wants to by, with the economy being the way it is.

  75. this is a big thing to advance in alot of ways.
I think that this is soo cool because they can experiance things and help people.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I think this is the weirdest thing I have ever read. It is wrong to play with DNA sequencing of organisms. What will be next? Humans?

    ReplyDelete
  77. I think that this is a good idea because if you lower the price on something people are going to start buying and people who used to not have it are going to be rushing in to get it.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I like the idea PCR is cheaper. I also like how many without resources can use it. Perfetto is developing the low cost way to read genes and many people could use it. For instance, many students could use them in their own school. Also the tools of molecular biology will eventually let anyone manipulate DNA. Hopefully the price of all of this will stay down.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Its a great thing for people who are low on wages. But also good for those who are interested in this type of research.

    ReplyDelete
  80. It's a good idea and something that is interesting to some people.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I think Perfetto's idea of making PCR's cheaper is a great thing for people who are not as wealthy as others. By him lowering his price his PCR will sell faster than the Original ones will.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I think this a very good idea. Its very interesting! But I don't think the price will be affordable for some people.

    ReplyDelete
  83. Its a good idea for people who are interested in this kind of stuff. It would help them to.

  84. To bring down the cost for research. Most of the time new inventions can't be tested because of money issues. This should do well for most.

    ReplyDelete
  85. This make it more cheater because 80 percent have drop in price of a powerful technology. It have a big change and big opportunities.

    ReplyDelete
  86. In my point of view to bring that expensive research down but the newer technology is more expensive so this will do for most

    ReplyDelete
  87. this is a very good article but the cost is too expensive

    ReplyDelete
  88. this is a good idea but in honestly the eway the ecomo,y is today nobody will be able to afford it but it would open up many doors for people who can afford it

    ReplyDelete
  89. This could potentially be amazing.I, mean the ability to have dna sequencing be a common thing would be very beneficial to the advancement of biology, and science as a whole.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I think PCR machines would be very useful in someways. I think they would make things much easier than they are with certain things.. just in some ways a little to expensive. some people just might not have the money for it though.
